The management of operations and emergency response are the top priorities for this directorate.
This is where the departments are bundled that ensure safe emergency response from the receipt of the call via the emergency number 110 to special emergency response (e.g. major events, gatherings).
Presence through two police stations
The majority of all uniformed officers in the GE directorate are on duty at the two police stations, which are manned around the clock. As a rule, a police station consists of officers from the security service and officers from the district service. The central police station is reinforced by officers from the task force. These officers are deployed throughout the city and mainly perform their duties in civilian clothing.
Command and Situation Service/Control Center
The Hamm Police Command and Situation Service is responsible for receiving and processing all emergency calls from the Hamm Police Headquarters area of responsibility and for forwarding and monitoring the resulting operations. In addition, operational information is prepared and made available as required.
An average of 125 emergency calls are received here every day via the emergency number 110. The spectrum ranges from disturbances to traffic accidents with injured persons to armed bank robberies. In each individual case, the officers have to make quick decisions so that citizens can be helped quickly.
The control center is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
